Nearly 20 people who have been employed by the Presidents Office since 1991 were once affiliated with the former State Security service, said Evtim Kostadinov, chairman of the dossier opening committee in Bulgaria.
Further information from the inquiry into Presidents Office employees will be disclosed on July 18 or 19 2007.
Currently, almost all the documentation has been revised, Focus news agency reported.
The committee began a check-up of the past of all ministers and high-level officials in order to find out whether any of them had an intelligence service dossier.
The committee demanded lists of all officials who assumed positions in the ministries since 1991 from Parliament, the Cabinet, the Presidency and the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC).
Once the check-up is completed, the committee will start examining all candidates for participation in the municipal elections.
