Greenville. The best way to imitate a weekend getaway within polluted Sofia just for an hour or two, or to pamper yourself for Christmas, or without any occasion just for the sake of it, it is to go to Greenville. Or any other cosy spa, I suppose, to your preference and to your closest location.

However, this one has many assets. Firstly, it is located in a really pleasant park area with a view to Mount Vitosha, close to the ex-by-now Sofia Land and the new-by-now Tokuda Hospital.

Secondly, the place is neither extremely crowded (as many others are), nor outrageously expensive either, for the standard it offers.

It is not right in the centre, that is a fact. And if you are not in that area, you will probably need a car or a taxi to reach it. But it is not very far either.

The staff /fitness and spa in particular/ and the others of course are very, very pleasant without being over-polite, i.e., nasty.

The atmosphere, too. It is more or less a completely new place. It is not too used up.

It is not a strictly business type of a hotel, either. It is more of a relaxing type. A spa place. Moreover it is not overcrowded with those puffing hyper-muscular pseudo-mafia guys or over-dressed and over-made mafia gals.

On entering the fitness and spa area, you see that it is very clean, too, which should be so, of course. At the reception desk, you can choose between: fitness centre, relaxation room, sauna, steam bath, jacuzzi, solarium, hairdresser, massages, swimming pool, aqua aerobics, etc.

The relaxation room is really worth mentioning: it is in brown and wooden materials, i.e, floor, tables, curtains, and white and beige canvas lounge chairs, including candles, meditation music, sounds of birds, crickets, nature and a muted light-darkness. It is enchanting.

The pool is really nice. It is indeed more of a relaxation type, too. It is not an Olympic-size though, which is normal for a hotel. But it is very, very pretty with its nice design, colours and setting – once more in the soft tonality, with a slight Oriental element.

Supposedly, one of the best assets of the entire place is its design. It is not noveau-riche, but rather a moderately refined.

The locker rooms are ok, without being extraordinary. However, the good thing again is that they are not overcrowded. As is the fitness area, too, which seems very modern, equipped, clean and welcoming.

The array of massages seems very tempting; it includes items such as: relaxing massage, toning massage, wet soap massage, aromatherapy, honey therapy, volcanic stone massage, etc. And the prices range from 15 to 35 leva.

Coming to that issue: the relaxation room, fitness, swimming, aqua-fitness prices range from seven to 15 leva – for a combination of two items. There are membership cards as well.

In general this place is one of the easiest and nicest ways to “escape” Sofia and/or beautify yourself for Christmas or just like that, because you feel like it.
