AIG Lifes seventh annual awards ceremony recognised achievements of the insurance companys top performers at the Sheraton Hotel on February 7.
The gala evening, which co-incided with board and progress meetings, brought from Greece AIG Life worldwisde vice president Andreas Vassiliou, who is also the director and executive vice president of Alico life insurance.
Awards were divided into three categories: Star League, Top Producers and Top Managers. Recognition in the first was divided into silver, gold and platinum levels. This years ceremony was the first in Bulgaria at which accomplishments attained the Platinum ranking.
A total of 17 awards were bestowed on 14 AIG Life employees from agencies at around the country. In the Star League category, five agents received Silver recognition, four Golden and two Platinum. Vahan Tahmizyan from the Plovdiv agency received a Star League Platinum award for 99 per cent life penetration and the Top IQA Agent award in the Top Producers category. Veselka Kolarova, AIG Life unit manager, earned recognition in the Star League, as a Top Manager and as a Top Producer. AIG Life Bulgaria executive director George Dedopoulos presented these awards.
The other top managers were Dani Karoleva from Sofia agency 101 and Petar Talev from Plovdiv, who received the Top AM Award/PA.
After the ceremony, Vassiliou addressed the attendees, congratulating them on their successes during the year 2006 and recognising those who demonstrated the best professional behaviour in terms of both quality and quantity.
The past year saw an increase of 50 per cent in the number of families who looked at AIG Life for protection, he said, growing to 150 000. Currently, the company has a 9.4 per cent market share and ranks third among the 13 life insurance companies operating in Bulgaria.
Turnover in 2006 reached 16 million leva, with profits of 2.6 million leva, after a capital investment increase of 1.2 million leva.
