Atanas Ivanov and his team of the Extasy from Balchik took home the Dinevi Cup for fastest boat in the fifth international regatta in Bulgaria's Black Sea town of Sveti Vlasi.

Notwithstanding the name and the fact that none of the international teams that had announced they would participate actually arrived at the start, the regatta was a strictly Bulgarian affair. Nonetheless, 130 participants, in 25 teams, took part in the four classes in the regatta.

Even though the third day of racing saw more wind, the classification after the second day in all classes remained unchanged.

Ivanov and his team were also the winners in the over 29 feet class, followed by Venid Yacht of Georgi Mihov and Aleksandar Aleksandrov from YSC Nessebar.

Winner in the Conrad 25R class was the Chivas of Mihail Kopanov and his crew from the municipal sailing club Nessebar 2000, followed by Quantum Racing of Pavel Bukov from the Pontos sailing club, with sailing club Cherno More Briz's Ivailo Angov in third place.

In the Melges 24 class, the Standard Asset of Ivailo Gavrailov from yachting club KGG Port Varna, who had moved up to the top ranking on the second day came out as winner of the regatta in this class.

Sundowner of Damyan Petkov yacht club Port Bourgas ended first in the class under 29 feet, followed by Lodoz of fellow club member Petko Dimitrov and his team. Third place in this class went to Primorsko from Valentin Nikolov of municipal sailing club Primorsko.

In the fifth regatta of Sveti Vlas, a total of seven races were run between July 18 and 20 2008.
