BOMB BLASTS IN RESIDENTIAL BUILDING IN BULGARIA’S VRATSA

A bomb blasted in a block of flats in the Northwestern Bulgaria’s town of Vratsa in the early morning of November 26 2007.

The bomb was placed in front of the entrance of the apartment of a 34-year-old man. The owner was considered close to criminal groups from the early 1990’s, Focus news agency reported.

A woman, aged 67, was injured in the accident. The victim suffered shoulder joint fracture. She was sent to hospital and later discharged.

The blast caused significant material damages to the building. Part of the joinery landed on a vehicle parked nearby and caused damages.

Regional police directorate chief Ivan Sulov personally visited the crime scene. Alleged members of the Vratsa criminal groups were also present, Focus said.
