Petar Dimitrov was appointed Economy and Energy Minister in Bulgaria on July 13 2007.
Dimitrov succeeds Roumen Ovcharov, who resigned on June 2 2007 after his name was linked to a major corruption controversy.
Prosecution failed to find any proof that Ovcharov was guilty.
Dimitrov was appointed minister despite some reservations in the ruling parties, the National Movement for Stability and Progress and Movement for Rights and Freedoms, as well as of his own Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), Focus news agency reported.
The new minister is a former chairman of the parliamentary Budget and Finance Committee. He is also among the authors of the social and economic programme of BSP.
Miglena Tacheva was selected for Justice Minister. She was Deputy Justice Minister in the Simeon Saxe-Coburg cabinet.
Bulgarias Parliament will decide on the appointments on July 16 2007.
