Vice Prime Minister and Minister for Disaster Management Emel Etem received a gift presented by the Turkish ambassador in Sofia on behalf of the Turkish parliament for the victims of the floods in Tsar Kaloyan.

The gift had a value of $100 000, a press statement from the Ministry for Disaster Management said.

Etem thanked Turkey on behalf of Bulgaria and on behalf of the inhabitants of Tsar Kaloyan for the support. She pointed out that this Turkish gesture was another reminder that in cases of emergency, the quickest help would come from neighboring countries.

As a token of gratitude, Etem presented a plaque of the MDPBA and a letter of gratitude to Turkey's vice prime minister Nazim Ekren.

The funds would transferred to the bank account of the municipality of Tsar Kaloyan, the press statement said.
