Foreign Minister Ivailo Kalfin will visit Germany and participate in the 42nd Munich politics and security conference.

In Munich Kalfin will meet the Christian Democratic Union chairperson Edmund Stoiber, the Bulgarian news agency reported. Kalfin will also meet Bulgarian students in Germany. Foreign Ministry data shows 2700 Bulgarian university students live in Germany.

On February 6 Kalfin will visit Berlin and lead discussions with his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier. The talks will focus on the bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Germany and Bulgaria's upcoming EU membership.

Recently German officials said the country is likely to wait for the final European Commission report on Bulgaria's reform progress, before the accession treaty ratification procedure begins.
