BULGARIA’S INFLATION ZERO PER CENT IN MAY

Bulgaria’s inflation for May was zero per cent, National Statistical Institute data shows.

In April the inflation rate was 0.4 per cent, Dnevnik newspaper reported. The inflation over the first six months of the year totals 4.6 per cent.

In May food prices have decreased by 0.5 per cent, while other goods registered a 0.5 per sent increase. The cost of services remains unchanged.

The highest increase was registered in the transport sector. In the past month transport prices rose by 1.6 per cent. Consumers will pay 0.4 per cent more for clothing and shoes. Furniture and household electronics cost 0.3 per cent more. Alcohol and tobacco product prices also increased by 0.1 per cent.

Food products prices decreased by 0.6 per cent. The costs of healthcare services, education and rents remain the same.
