E.ON Bulgaria, the German-owned utility operating the Gorna Oryahovitsa and Varna electricity distribution companies in northern and north-eastern Bulgaria, announced plans to reshuffle the top management of the company, Dnevnik daily reported on April 9.

The new managerial team will officially be presented next week, when the company will also make public its financial results for 2007 and investment plans for 2008.

Markus Kaune, to date in charge of regulations, communications, legal affairs and corporate development at E.ON Bulgaria will re-join the parent company, E.ON Energie AG.

The official, a key figure in the privatisation of the Bulgarian electricity companies and their subsequent restructuring, will be co-ordinating investment in the region and will serve as regional manager for Bulgaria.

He will be succeeded by Hubert Lechner from the mergers and acquisitions department of E.ON Energie, who was in charge of drafting corporate development strategies.

Former deputy chief executive of the Bulgarian Telecommunications Company, Boiko Dimitrachkov, will join the board of directors at both E.ON Bulgaria and E.ON Sales and will be responsible for regulations, human resources and sales. He will replace Ralph Pesch.
