Education Ministry presents school leaving exams website

On January 29,  Education Minister Daniel Vulchev presented the website www.zamaturite.bg, Dnevnik daily said.

The website contains information for students, parents and teachers on preparation, organisation and procedures for the school leaving exams.

In June 2008, 12th grade students would for the first time have to sit two school leaving exams, one for Bulgarian language and literature and one free topic.

The site publishes a hotline telephone number for questions about the exams.

Dates when students have to sit exams in June and September will be published on the site.

Vulchev said that a list would be published of higher eduction institutes that had accepted results of the school leaving exams in the admission and selection procedures. Universities have until February 12 to inform the education ministry about their decision.

Evgenia Kostadinova, director of directorate General Educational Politics at the Education Ministry, said that students were allowed to sit additional exams if they wanted to. Exam results are final, she said.
