German energy provider E.ON plans investing over 40 million leva in infrastructure projects in Bulgaria for 2007.
On July 7 E.ON Bulgaria Board of Management member Reinhard Aschendorff opened a new electric substation constructed by the company near Varna, Dnevnik newspaper reported.
The project cost over eight million leva, Aschendorff said. The station would provide additional 25 000 kilowatt hours, which could easily satisfy the needs of over 10 000 consumers.
In September E.ON would construct another substation near the town of Byala worth seven million leva.
The execution of new projects would affect electricity prices, Aschendorff said. He refrained from specifying the exact percentage, but said that the increase would be based on the average inflation levels in Bulgaria.
E.ON planned to create 'energy police' to decrease losses from irregular electricity fee gathering.
