13:34 Thu 08 Mar 2007

State Agency for Tourism (SAT) chair Anelia Krouskova and SAT deputy chair Stanislav Novakov discussed in Germany tourism cooperation with member of the Bundestag committee on tourism Jurgen Klimke.

Bulgaria and Germany could cooperate European programme projects, Kroushkova said. Nearly 60 per cent of tourists coming to Bulgaria are Europeans, Bulgarian news agency BTA reported.

Cooperation in tourism could take place between state institutions and through public-private partnership, Kroushkova said.

The 2007 International Tourism Bourse (ITB) in Berlin gave presentation stage to 40 Bulgarian participants, representatives of Bulgarian tourism companies said at the meeting.

Further topics of discussions at the meeting were the VAT payments in tourism and the over-construction in Bulgarian resorts. Dirk Berlingoff, representative of REWE group, one of the leading tour operators in Germany said that Bulgaria could face problems with overflow of tourists soon.
