On Thursday, the government approved the letter of support for the $1.3 billion investment of the U.S. companies Entergy and AES in Maritza-Iztok heating power plant.
The Council of Ministers decided to support the draft contracts with the American companies and authorised the National Electricity Company (NEC) to agree on the particular parametres of the deal.
Òhe chief of the State Energy Agency, Ivan Shilyashki, confirmed that all the details could be settled by the end of May, but Deputy Prime Minister Petar Zhotev warned that 21 adjustments to the contracts should be introduced.
The government also expressed its support to the German investor Reinbraun, which plans to rehabilitate the coal extraction in Maritsa-Iztok.
