INFLATION IN BULGARIA 5.4 PER CENT IN JULY 2007

Inflation from January to July 2007 was 5.4 per cent, compared to the same period of 2006, National Statistical Institute (NSI) survey said.

The inflation in July 2007 was 4.3 per cent, compared to December 2006 rates and 8.4 per cent in compatison to July 2006, investor.bg reported.

Consumer price index for July 2007 was 102.2 and inflation 2.2 per cent, compared to June 2007.

Food products prices went up by 3.9 per cent in July 2007 compared to June 2007. Services prices increased by 2.7 per cent and prices of non-food products remained unchanged.

The highest price increase within the group of food products experienced flour, 4.8 per cent, bread, 9.9 per cent, cheese, 7.2 per cent and eggs, ten per cent.

Out of non-food products, accommodation rental prices went up by 0.8 per cent, electricity prices by 7.8 per cent, tourism services by 27.1 per cent.
