Transport Minister Petar Moutafchiev met his counterpart from the German province North Rhine-Westfalia (NRW) Oliver Wittke to discuss co-operation opportunities in transport sector.
The two ministers discussed programmes in the sphere of infrastructure, transport projects and opportunities for Bulgarian-German co-operation, Focus news agency reported.
Wittke will also meet Bulgarian State Railways management.
Business representatives from North Rhine were introduced to the opportunities for participation in tenders for railway infrastructure renovation in Bulgaria.
Wittke said that Bulgaria's infrastructure development programme was very ambitious.
The establishment of unified railway net within the EU was a task not only of the the separate governments and countries but of Europe as a whole, Wittke said.
The two ministers also discussed possibilities for purchasing used train cars at higher quality than the ones Bulgarias railways use at the moment.
