Former Deputy Justice Minister Dimitar Bongalov said that interpersonal conflicts and the fact that he said sufficiently finished what he set out to do, were the reasons for his resignation.
Alexandar Karakachanov, leader of the Green party, accused his party-member Bongalov of aspiring to create a new party, Bongalov told private channel bTV.
"When the Green party launched the idea of a Green Alliance, to unify the green political spectre, many green organisation took part and that was when Alexandar Karakachanov accused me of using my connections with the Green Cross to establish a new party," Bongalov said, "and we were said to have drained the state reserve".
Bongalov said that he became Deputy Justice Minister to “fill the gap”. The Green party, as coalition partner of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, had to provide a Deputy Justice Minister, and it assigned Bongalov to the post.
“I was responsible for relations with the other parties and one can say that I collaborated to make this coalition,” he said.
Bongalov announced his resignation as Deputy Justice Minister and as deputy chairperson of the Green party on November 9.
