Stanislav Manolev's second-half strike won Litex Lovech the Bulgarian Cup on May 14, securing the club another European campaign next season. Litex defeated Cherno More Varna 1:0 in the match played at the Vassil Levski national stadium in Sofia.
For the first time in seven years, the final featured two teams from outside Sofia, contributing to the low attendance, with only 2500 fans watching the game from the stands of the 40,000-seater ground. Last time that happened, Litex won against Velbuzhd Kyustendil in 2001.
After an even first half, Manolev broke the deadlock in the 57th minute, heading in Wellington Brito da Silva's cross into the penalty area.
Having opened the scoring, Litex dominated the rest of the game against a disheartened Cherno More, who mastered only two dangerous attacks until the final whistle, but the shots of Nikola Domakinov and Mihail Lazarov were both off target.
By winning the cup for the third time in its history, Litex have qualified to play in next season's UEFA Cup, where it will start in the second qualifying round.
