Tottenham's board of directors set a price of 35 million pounds (46.95 million euro) for the club's striker from Bulgaria Dimitar Berbatov.
Manchester United and Chelsea were both considered potential buyers of the player.
Tottenham Hotspur have slapped a 35m price tag on Dimitar Berbatov in an attempt to ward off Chelsea and Manchester United, timesonline.co.uk quoted Daily Express as saying.
Berbatov's agent had said that the striker would leave Tottenham to move to a bigger club, metro.co.uk said.
Tottenham paid German Bayer Leverkusen 10.9 million pounds (14.6 million euro) for Berbatov in May 2006.
