Bourgas prosecution would appeal the sentence of double world champion figure skating Maxim Staviski, prosecutor Angel Georgiev told journalists.
On January 30 2008, Bourgas regional court sentenced Staviski to two years and six months suspended sentence, with a five-year probation period, for causing the death of a man and seriously injuring a second person in a road accident on August 5 2007, while under the influence of alcohol.
During the trial Georgiev had asked for a 2.5 years effective sentence, Dnevnik daily said.
Georgiev said that he would appeal the sentence in the 15-day term given by the court and which started on January 30. The court however hasn’t presented its arguments for the sentence yet.
