Changes in salary regulations for state-owned and municipal companies led to mass dissatisfaction.
Employers from all spheres of economy under public funding in the country started protests demanding higher salaries, according to Industry Watch (IW) analyses published by investor.bg.
State railway workers, and employees of heating supply companies and Sofia public transport already received sufficient salary increase.
Education features among spheres in which employee protests could hinder reforms concerning differentiated payments, IW said.
Differentiated payment, currently existing in the education sector, is based on work experience. Most young teachers see this as unfair, the report said. Those teachers get 20 to 25 per cent lower salaries in comparison with their colleagues having 20 years of experience.
According to the analysis, better evaluation approach should be applied to the individual work of each teacher. The individual approach is better solution compared to a unified payment system, the report said.
