SECOND BRIDGE IN BULGARIA'S KRIVODOL READY
13:03 Tue 13 Nov 2007 - Rene Beekman

The second bridge over the river Vurteshnitsa in Bulgaria's Krivodol was ready, Focus news agency said.

Construction was necessary after floods in 2004, which cut off the only connection between the two parts of the town of Krivodol.

The only bridge in Krivodol was damaged in the flooding, limiting movement across the river, Focus news agency said.
The use of the bridge by motor vehicles was reduced to a minimum out of fear it would collapse.

This made it necessary to plan and construct a new bridge, which would connect the road from Bulgaria's Vratsa and adjacent neighbourhoods with the centre, the municipality and the train station of Krivodol.

The new bridge was ready and would be opened on November 16.
