Siemens technology and art at Sofia City Art Gallery

The Sofia City Art Gallery shows work by contemporary Bulgarian artists under the theme of 130 years of Siemens in Bulgaria, where significant historical periods are intertwined with the development of the local art scene.

It comprises two parts, the first featuring three major periods: 1878-1944, 1970-1997, and 1998-2008. art scene.

Viewers can see some of the products manufactured during that time as well as art objects charting the development of Bulgarian art from the end of 19th century to date. art scene.

The second part of the exhibition comments on urbanisation, globalisation and demographic changes and discusses the quality of life and environmental issues.

In addition, works of Bulgarian contemporary artists have been displayed such as Ivan Moudov, Boryana Pandova, Ivan Nikolov, Samouil Stoyanov and Krassimir Terziev.

The exhibtion will be open until December 14 2008.
