SWEET FIVE: Pioneer Investment fund celebrated five years in Bulgaria, and 80 years since the third oldest mutual fund in the world was started, on February 13. RECYCLING IN THE NEW YEAR: Packaging recovery organisation Ecopack Bulgaria AD held its 2008 welcoming party on February 7 in Sofia’s Archaeological Museum. AMCHAM SKI TOURNAMENT: The fourth annual AmCham Ski Tournament will take place on February 23 at the Aleko ski centre in Vitosha Mountain. There will be two disciplines: giant slalom ski and giant slalom snowboard, with a men’s, women’s, children’s and team competition in each. A hiking tour to Cherni Vrah will also be organised. CIVIS CENTER: Spanish investor Riofisa presented its 270 million euro, multi-functional retail compound project on February 13. The complex will be built near Sofia’s central railway and bus stations. The first stage of the project will include a modern commercial and entertaining centre, and a 100 m tall tower housing offices and a hotel. The second phase will comprise offices, a residential complex and a car park.
