Military
The Bulgarian Ministry of Defence has begun a reform program (PLAN 2004) to downsize and modernize the armed forces. This calls for the adoption of a smaller force of approximately 50,000 people, with a Rapid Reaction Force and two additional corps headquarters, all with subordinate brigades.
