Coach of national Karate-Do team wins Bulgarian tournament

On Sunday, Borislav Ivanov won at the eighth edition of the national Karate-Do Superchampion tournament, which gathers the 16 best karate fighters in Bulgaria. In a hotly contested final, Ivanov, who is also the coach of the Bulgarian national team, won over Dimitar Todoranov by 1-0. In third was Spas Georgiev, who beat Vesselin Shumnatov. This year the competition was under the aegis of Boiko Borissov, chief secretary of the Ministry of Interior Affairs, who is a long-time member of the Bulgarian National Karate Federation and a founder of the Sofia club for Fighting Sports Yppon.
