The state of emergency, announced as a result of the latest floods in Bulgaria, remains valid in Ihtiman, Zhivkovo village, Elin Pelin and the Sofia region, Disaster Management Ministry representatives said.

Water is pumped out of the ground floors of houses in the Pleven region. The electricity network and water supply were re-established in all affected villages, mediapool.bg reported.

Experts from the national meteorological institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAN) said river levels will continue going down. The water level of Danube, Iskar, Zlatna Panega, Vit, Osum and Lom rivers is under constant inspection.

All other rivers on Bulgarian territory remain within the average March levels. The dikes of the Danube are under surveillance to ensure security.

Several road sectors remain inaccessible due to land slides. A region of the Nikopol-Pleven road has been damaged. Due to snowmelt and a landslide the road from Omourtag to Popovo is also inaccessible.
