The Chief Directorate for Combating Organised Crime (CDCOC) was investigating several custom officers, who allegedly took part in corruption schemes.

Almost six months ago the Interior Ministry compiled a list with the names of nearly 50 customs officers allegedly involved in cases of corruption, Darik Radio reported.

The current investigation involved officers working in Sofia's customs agency and others working at Kalotina border checkpoint, Darik reported.

At the same time three employees of Sofia Airport's customs inspection could be fined over poor performance and corruption.

The assets of nine agents are inspected. Information that these employees have presented over their work would also be examined, Darik said.
