Sergei Stanishev, since 2002 Bulgarian Socialist Party leader, was re-elected to the post last night at the party's 47th congress, taking place November 22 and 23 2008 at NDK in Sofia.
He was selected with 803 votes out of a total 853, daily Dnevnik reported on November 23.
Along with the party leader, also named were members of the BSP executive council, among whom now figure, according to news.bg, Transport Minister Petar Moutafchiev, Culture Minister Stefan Danailov, Regional Development and Public Works Minister Assen Gagaouzov, Roumen Ovcharov, State Agency for Youth and Sport head Vesselva Lecheva, Speaker of Parliament Georgi Pirinski, Smolyan mayor Dora Yankova and Bulgarian member of European Parliament Kristian Vigenin.
