Rotary Club Sofia International brought 115 children from eight social care homes in Sofia to a puppet theatre show of Jack and the Beanstalk on December 13 2008.

Before the play at the puppet theatre on Gurko Street in Sofia, the children and their teachers had breakfast at McDonald's. This is the second year that this Sofia Rotary club has organised such an event, which was made even more merry thanks to support from Coca-Cola, McDonald's, Hallmark Tickets and Nestlé.

The day following the show, clothing items, toys, books and financial donations that had been collected with the participtaion of Private School Svetlina, High School 26 Yordan Yovkov and High School 88 Dimitar Popnikolov were donated to the children's social care homes.

Rotary has 80 clubs in Bulgaria; the branch of Rotary that sponsored the event is the only English-language one in the country. Its weekly meetings are held on Wednesdays at 7pm at Arte Hotel in Sofia.
