A number of key boulevards and streets will be temporarily closed to traffic because of scheduled protests on January 14-16, Bulgaria's Interior Ministry said on January 13.

On January 14, between 10am and 6pm, traffic will be halted gradually along the route of the students march, which will begin at Hristo Botev Hall in Studentski Grad borough, passing on Kliment Ohridski, Dragan Tsankov, Graf Ignatief, Vassil Levski and Tsar Osvoboditel boulevards to end at the Narodno Subranie square in front of Parliament.

For the duration of the rally, no traffic would be allowed on the Tsar Osvoboditel Boulevard in the stretch between the intersections will Vasil Levski Boulevard and GS Rakovski Street..

On January 15, the areas affected by traffic restrictions will include the Vladimir Vazov and Knyaz Dondoukov boulevards, Oborishte Street and Alexander Nevski square. The restrictions are in place from 8am until the end of the rally of Kremikovtzi employees, the ministry said.

Other thoroughfares on which traffic is expected to be worse than usual because of the steelworkers' marches are GS Rakovski and Slavyanska streets, as well as Tsar Osvoboditel Boulevard.

The restrictions on traffic on Knyaz Dondoukov and Tsar Osvoboditel boulevard will depend on how long the protesters will spend in front of the Presidency and Cabinet buildings, the ministry said.
