With the winter gone, spring well on its way and summer just around the corner, the time has come to prepare for Summer 2009's newest edition of festivals across Europe. And yes, according to the reputed British publication, the Times, Bulgarian festival the Spirit of Bourgas rates amongst the top 20 destinations of Europe.
According to the British publication, "From Serbia to Spain, Belgium to Bulgaria, music fans are looking for ever more exotic and alternative places to party. Some countries, especially in eastern Europe, are still much cheaper than the UK and ticket prices often cost half that of the larger homegrown affairs".
Furthermore, the publication goes on to describe Bulgaria as: "Cheap as chips Bulgaria is hosting this affair on a beach on the sunny Black Sea coast. Go to see acts that include Sisters of Mercy, Asian Dub Foundation, Bonobo and a load of top DJs like Chris Liebling and Groove Armada".
Spirit of Bourgas will be held on August 14, 15 and 16. The place Bourgas, the central beach and its adjacent sea garden. In 2008, most of the international visitors were from Poland, Romania, Greece and Turkey.
In 2009, the three day festival will feature all together six stages, main stage, dance arena, three concert arena and a secondary DJ stage. The new development will be the incorporated camp site within the festival, exclusively for Spirit of Bourgas. The organisers promise "a 24 hour party".
