In February this year, after all the hype of Christmas and New Year, we decided to spend a long weekend in the snow in Borovets. For me, a holiday doesn't have to be in a grand hotel (well, maybe sometimes), right on the doorstep of the slopes or right in the centre of town. I prefer a more homely, cosy place to stay, somewhere you can relax and take time out from reality but yet close enough to enjoy the slopes,
Waking up, the summer sun shining through our bedroom window, feeling refreshed and ready to go after a carbohydrate-filled dinner and an early night in, we slowly get out of bed. That's when it hits, the aches and pains of the previous two days spent hiking through Rila National Park.
