WHEN I returned home to Canada after living abroad for a year and a half, I opened up my storage locker and reacquainted myself with my belongings - including my sadly outdated television. True, my television is at least 30 years old and was outdated by the time I was born, but it still made me reflect on how quickly things advance these days. My failure to keep up with these advancements will be saved for another column.

GROWING up, I always considered myself something of a Star Trek fan. But while I enjoyed watching the shows and discussing them with my friends, I was always wary of crossing the very blurry line between casual fan and hardcore addict. Fortunately, I had my aunt to keep me grounded.
MY fondest memory of Halloween occurred one chilly evening 13 or so years ago. Faced with the unjust realisation that my trick or treating days were well behind me, I knew there was one avenue which remained open - scaring the hell out of the neighbourhood kids.

ONE of the biggest downsides to the internet is its anonymous nature. Millions of users log on every day and interact with faceless strangers for endless reasons. Of course, given the content of some of these endless reasons, an anonymous nature is also one of the net's upsides.

Chris's road to Bulgaria began at a cocktail party in Belgium over five years ago.
One thing that's always puzzled me about the internet is the sheer number of bad web sites out there. For the length of time the technology has been around, it's mind-boggling how even some of the most technologically advanced companies fall short in this department.

Despite the name, this restaurant is much more than a simple cafe. Located outside the city centre, it's worth going a little out of your way to dine here, and judging by the amount of business the place does whenever I'm around, I'm not alone in this estimation.
