President George Bush and Bulgarian Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev have met at the White House for talks on a variety of issues, including nuclear energy, Iraq, Kosovo and Bulgaria's internal problems.
The meeting passed under the radar of media outside Bulgaria, but those that did cover the event hailed it a success and said that Bush heaped praise on Stanishev for Bulgaria's strong foreign policy, while sounding a cautionary note about Bulgaria's ongoing troubles regarding corruption and organised crime.
