Dnevnik 20

Calculated by Bulgaria's leading business daily Dnevnik, the index was launched on January 1 2006 as Dnevnik 15, but was later expanded to include five more companies.

It is the main alternative to the indices calculated by the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE), particularly the Sofix index, which also tracks the performance of the top 20 stocks on the Bulgarian bourse.

Unlike Sofix, Dnevnik 20 does not take into account the prices at which the stocks trade.

Market capitalisation accounts for 40 per cent of a company's contribution to the index, the same as the average daily turnover over the previous six months, while the remaining 20 per cent are made up by the number of days over the previous six months in which the turnover exceeded the average daily turnover for the period.
